After quinoa rests about 5 minutes, spoon into bowls and top with remaining sliced fruit.
Expert Tips
- Don’t skip on rinsing the quinoa. Quinoa is coated with a bitter protective layer called “saponin.” It helps keep birds at bay, but also makes it taste rather nasty. Use a fine-mesh strainer to rinse the quinoa under cool water before cooking. Though most companies “polish” or prewash packaged quinoa, it’s still a good idea to give it a good wash before cooking, just to be sure.
- Switch out the strawberry and bananas for other fruits like blackberries, blueberries or raspberries.
